Natural Wonders
A lot of countries have natural wonders, but Turkey is blessed with many that are extraordinary and a few that are truly unique. Two very famous gems of the country are the fairy chimneys of Cappadocia and sparkling white terrace pools of Pamukkale. Lesser known but just as impressive are the Kaçkar Mountain, Lake Van and fascinating sites like Chimaera and the Caves of Heaven and Hell.
The Hammams
The traditional hammam is a heated, tiled room with a warm marble slab called göbek taşı (tummy stone). The hammam experience has become synonymous with Turkey and is surely a must do while visiting the country. Being scrubbed, massaged with aromatic oils and finally exfoliated with a cloud of soap foam is truly a spectacular way to unwind.
